Why would Trump execute one of the largest, self-inflicted capitulations in the U.S. economy of all time? This, while he proclaims that he will change the constitution to enable him to be elected for a third term. I honestly think he feels ordained to be America’s saviour post the failed assignation attempt. He says he has always loved tariffs, and is going to use them as a tool to:
• Rebalance global trade (get the U.S. deficit with all countries down to zero);
•Raise revenue for the U.S. to “pay” for the coming tax cuts;
• Rebuild industrial & manufacturing America, to raise the middle class which has been left behind by globalization. Middle class income was sacrificed to China in exchange for cheap goods;
• Secure control of supply chains; and
• Protect national sovereignty.
